Statements

Antonio Rea, Managing Director of Bufala Fest – not just mozzarella

We are proud to present a ninth edition of Bufala Fest that is even richer and more prestigious, characterized by a top-quality program and exhibitors representing the excellence of our supply chain. This year the event takes on an increasingly international scope, a growth path highlighted by the presence of an illustrious guest of honor such as Bill De Blasio, former mayor of New York. His participation underlines the global attractiveness of our format and Naples’ centrality as the capital of the Mediterranean. We are ready to offer Neapolitans and many tourists an unforgettable experience that combines flavor, culture, innovation, and above all, knowledge.”

Prof. Gaetano Manfredi, Mayor of the City of Naples

“The return of Bufala Fest has become an event that marks the full revival of the city with an extraordinary showcase of our territory’s quality for Neapolitans and many tourists. The mozzarella supply chain must be protected and enhanced, and we are fully committed to supporting the sector”.

Sen. Franco Silvestro, President of the Parliamentary Committee on Regional Affairs

“I define mozzarella as our Campanian gold. In Parliament and in the Senate, I raised my first question time on brucellosis in Campania, a problem that has plagued some of our producers. But we are also working on buffalo meat, which needs to be better known to the public as happens here at Bufala Fest. This is our gold, and we must publicize it everywhere, with this Festival that takes place in Piazza Municipio, an emblematic place for our Naples, beloved by the many tourists who now come to visit and fall in love with our city”.

Hon. Imma Vietri, XII Commission for Social Affairs of the Chamber of Deputies

“The Bufala Fest confirms itself as a strategic event for the enhancement of the buffalo supply chain and, more generally, of our agri-food excellence. An event that transcends the food and wine dimension to become a platform for cultural exchange and a driver of sustainable development. The sponsorship of the Chamber of Deputies for the conference area ‘The Garden of Ideas’ underlines the value of an initiative that promotes knowledge, innovation, and territorial identity”.

Hon. Nicola Caputo, Regional Minister for Agriculture of Campania

“The Campania Region is heavily investing in the buffalo supply chain, overcoming the complexities of past years. We return happily to Bufala Fest in Naples which, thanks to the foresight of the organizers, is gaining momentum, increasingly integrating this event with other initiatives that the Campania Region is implementing to promote all our products”.

Hon. Teresa Armato, Councillor for Tourism and Productive Activities of the Municipality of Naples

“Bufala Fest is confirmed as an important event for the promotion of our territory, capable of enhancing the excellence of the buffalo and agri-food supply chain, integrating them with the hospitality and cultural identity of Naples. This ninth edition, with the theme of knowledge, has placed at its core the connection between taste, sustainability, and awareness, offering citizens and tourists an authentic and engaging experience”.

Leonardo Massa, Vice President of MSC Cruises

By once again hosting the Bufala Fest press conference aboard MSC World Europa, now in its ninth edition, MSC Cruises reaffirms its support for an event that combines taste, art, and inclusion. It is also an opportunity for our cruise passengers disembarking in Naples to enjoy the festival in Piazza Municipio, just a short walk from the city’s main landmarks”.

Daniela Di Prisco, President of the “Giardino delle Idee” Association

“From September 3 to 7, through high-level debates, we will explore how knowledge, combined with innovation and sustainability, is the key to enhancing the entire buffalo sector. We invite everyone to participate to discover together how ‘knowledge is in the flavor’ and to help build an increasingly innovative and sustainable future for the buffalo, fishing, and agri-food supply chains”.

Pier Maria Saccani, Director of the Consortium for the Protection of Mozzarella di Bufala Campana PDO

Bufala Fest is an important showcase for the buffalo supply chain, an opportunity to capture current scenarios and outline future ones. The Consortium has long been a partner in this project, which successfully combines moments of reflection and leisure, a mix that represents its true strength. During the festival days, the public will see how the Mozzarella di Bufala Campana PDO sector is both an economic and social engine. Moreover, the choice of the heart of Naples as the venue once again testifies to the indissoluble bond between a product with a designation of origin, such as mozzarella, and its territory. We will continue to work and invest in this direction, also with a view to the growth of PDO tourism, increasingly on the rise in Italy“.

Ettore Prandini, National President of Coldiretti

The buffalo sector is extraordinary, not only for the dairy industry but also for the meat sector, which we believe can be further enhanced. It is a driver of knowledge linked to the quality of Italian agri-food and also a driver of tourism. We must increasingly create conditions for our products to be appreciated so that tourists, once back in their countries, continue to buy them. Italian agri-food represents a great opportunity for our country, and the buffalo world is an extraordinary testimony to its importance; we will continue to defend it and enhance it as an opportunity for growth for Italy and future generations“.

Ettore Bellelli, President of Coldiretti Campania

Mozzarella di Bufala confirms itself as the most famous cheese from Campania worldwide, which is why Coldiretti Campania enthusiastically embraced an event like Bufala Fest that for nine years has been enhancing the entire supply chain. Its great fame worldwide must keep attention high, especially in the areas where it originates. Consumers are becoming increasingly demanding, and all producers, especially those belonging to the Mozzarella di Bufala Campana PDO Consortium, must maintain ever higher quality. For many tourists, it will be the perfect opportunity for a first encounter or to taste buffalo meat, which is increasingly in demand. The event’s opening to the world of the sea is also the right occasion to highlight projects followed by Coldiretti Fishing, such as those related to tourism, aquaculture, and razor clams”.

Collaborations and Sponsorships

“Bufala Fest – not just mozzarella” is organized in collaboration with the “Giardino delle Idee” Association, Coldiretti Campania and the Consortium for the Protection of Mozzarella di Bufala Campana PDO.

The event enjoys the sponsorship of the Campania Region, the Municipality of Naples, and the Metropolitan City of Naples and is co-financed as part of the PN FEAMPA 21-27 – OS 2.2 action 4 Intervention 2, the National Program of the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund, which addresses three fundamental challenges to accompany the evolution of the fisheries and aquaculture sectors by 2030: green transition, digital transition, and resilience, along with the goal of fostering innovation processes across the board.
