The eighth edition of Bufala Fest has concluded – not just mozzarella, but a festival dedicated to taste, art, inclusion, and the value of diversity. Held in Naples, in the central Piazza Municipio, just steps away from the city’s main attractions, the event aimed to promote and enhance the characteristics of the entire buffalo milk supply chain and its integration with other agri-food sectors, particularly with the fisheries sector, thanks to the support of the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund – Feampa.

It is worth noting that throughout the duration of the event, thousands of visitors flocked to the village set up in Piazza Municipio without causing any issues with city traffic or circulation. This indicates that the measures implemented by the Municipality of Naples and the Park & Go initiative by Anm worked effectively during the first three days of the event, combined with Naples’ central location for public transportation, just steps away from Line 1 and Line 6 of the metro, and close to the Central and Montesanto funiculars and Line 2 and Cumana stations.

On the final day, the Bufala Fest village was visited by Naples Mayor Gaetano Manfredi and Antonio Iannone, Secretary of the Senate’s Presidency Office.

“Bufala Fest,” explains Antonio Rea, the event’s organizational director, “confirms its status as a well-established event in the quality event landscape, successfully combining the pleasure of a carefully selected gastronomic experience with the need to convey interesting content related to the promotion of the entire buffalo milk supply chain as a driver of economic and tourist development in Campania. This year, through thematic talks organized with the Giardino delle Idee Association and with the support of Feampa, we have spotlighted the value of food diversity and the importance of food inclusion.”

“The emotions I experienced during the five days of Bufala Fest,” continues Rea, “were truly unique and indescribable. Seeing daily children, young people, adults, and seniors all together in our village enjoying dishes prepared by our culinary artists was a beautiful image, the most representative snapshot of this eighth edition. Because,” concludes Rea, “when the audience of an event like ours manages to be both actor and spectator with composure and sobriety, it means we have all taken the right direction.”

“Bufala Fest is a beautiful event,” stated Naples Mayor Gaetano Manfredi, “where I found a lot of quality, and that is what our city needs. An event that allows thousands of tourists and citizens to spend a different evening outdoors, in one of Naples’ most symbolic locations. We must work to constantly improve the city, always in the interest of the citizens. Bufala Fest is a significant example of how many professionals work daily to elevate the quality of the tourism and event offerings. Offering visitors the chance to dine with a breathtaking view of the maritime station or the Maschio Angioino is something unique, unparalleled in any other city in the world. Naples is a unique city, and we must simply ensure we enhance and keep it moving, encouraging investments from responsible entrepreneurs. We do not need stagnation,” concludes Manfredi, “but a continuous challenge towards improvement.”

“For the second consecutive year,” says Antonio Iannone, Secretary of the Senate’s Presidency Office, “Bufala Fest enjoys the moral patronage of the Senate, as it has established itself over time as a reference point for the promotion and enhancement of the buffalo milk supply chain and the entire agri-food sector. The organizers’ ability to combine the recreational and entertainment aspects with the informative and educational aspects of the sector adds further quality to an event that each year manages to engage thousands of visitors in our region. The theme of this edition, which highlighted food diversity and food inclusion, was of particular interest,” concludes Iannone, “as these are central issues in government policies.”

This and much more was ‘Bufala Fest – not just mozzarella,’ which offered the public around 40 food exhibitors presenting dishes made exclusively with buffalo milk products: milk, dairy products, cheeses, meats, and cold cuts, also paired with wines from ‘Sannio Consorzio Tutela Vini’ or Leffe beer, as well as Dolomia water or Pepsi and Chin8 Neri drinks.

‘Bufala Fest – not just mozzarella’ was organized by the “Giardino delle Idee” association and Crea Eventi, in collaboration with the Consorzio di Tutela della Mozzarella di Bufala Campana Dop and Cia – Agricoltori Italiani Campania, and with the patronage of the Senate of the Republic, the Chamber of Deputies, the Campania Region, the Municipality and the Metropolitan City of Naples, the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund – Feampa, the University of Salerno with the Department of Pharmacy, the Observatory on Parks and Protected Areas of Southern Italy, and the Sustainability Communication Centre.
